Situated in the centre of Iringa Town, the Aga Khan Primary Medical Centre, Iringa employees a team of 20 dedicated staff providing high quality primary health care services in the region to over 2,000 patients each month. The centre provides in- and out-patient services, minor emergency, diagnostics, free MCH, and pharmacy services.
Equipped with core laboratory, X-ray, Electrocardiogram (ECG) and Ultrasound equipments, the centre offers high quality, affordable care for the most common illnesses plaguing the region. Recently, certification of the laboratory unit for the widal test is significant, as this test is limited in the region. Partnerships have been established with government facilities referring patients for clinical and diagnostic services.
Since September 2010, the centre has also become a training site for nurses in the region in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare under IntraHealth.
